灰分：生物學名詞。借指生物體里面的無機成分。如鉀、鈉、鈣、鎂、鐵等，經燃燒后殘留為灰。但灰分一定是某種物質中的固體部分而不是氣體或液體部分。在高溫時，發生一系列物理和化學變化，最后有機成分揮發逸散，而無機成分(主要是無機鹽和氧化物)則殘留下來，這些殘留物稱為灰分。
